Access & enquiries
Researchers can make appointments to study objects not on display. Appointments have to be booked in advance and the Museum reserves the right to temporarily close access to some collections.
Phone and email enquiries
Museum staff can answer enquiries about the collections and London's history. The Museum receives hundreds of enquiries a week but does not undertake detailed research for enquirers. We try to reply to all enquiries within 20 days.
Object identifications
If you would like to bring in an object for identification, contact us to make an appointment. It is not always possible for Museum staff to provide object identifications via email. Objects more than 300 years old should be reported to the Portable Antiquities Scheme (external link).
See Collections contact details for all the above.
