Sleeve Ruffle

Shaped double sleeve ruffles made from Indian muslin embroidered with cotton in darning stitch with small sprigs of flowers and insects (the pattern is upside down on the under ruffle of one of the pairs). The scalloped edges are outlined with looped decoration in buttonhole stitch. The muslin is tightly gathered and whipped onto narrow woven tape at the armholes.
