Museum of London Archaeological Archive

Uncover the past through excavations from across London.

Lives of Londoners

Every time a new skyscraper is built in London, or a new train line tunnelled, we discover more about Londoners' lives throughout the ages.

The collection includes artefacts from these excavations, as well as archaeologist’s records and plans for the Museum of London’s Archaeological Archive.

Research access and tours

Due to critical collections work, including the complete reorganisation of the museum’s storage, research access to the Archaeological Archive will be closed from the end of December 2022 for two years.

During this period it will not be possible to book tour visits to the archive. This will be reviewed after 18 months.
