Friday 30 May 1919

" On my 11 o'clock Journey I saw Alderton and Greenway fishing for tiddlers: when they had finished they had a ginger beer bottle full. One fish was so large that they couldn't squeeze it in the bottle neck.
I went out in the evening and bought my usual papers, an apple and a pair of socks.
At 8.35 while we were playing cricket I leant over the railings of Parkinson's area for my ball and in doing so I smashed my watch glass. Tomorrow I am hoping to take it to Trasle's and get him to mend it.
Weather: -  Hot all day. Sunshine all day. No rain or clouds."
