Momo is a Maghrebi restaurant, which means it serves North African cuisine. Many of the dishes have French names, reflecting the influence of French colonial culture in this region. Typical foods are tagines, a casserole named for the terracotta pot in which it is cooked and couscous, steamed cracked wheat. The tradecard opens to list some of the herbs and spices which flavour Maghrebi cooking and their properties. These include 'Caraway - wards off witches, prevents lovers being fickle' and 'Coriander - Eases flatulence, confers immortality, aids colic'.
