Accession number: 50.82/1080

Place made: 6 Stanlake Villas, Shepherd's Bush, London W

This suffrage propaganda poster was designed and printed at the Suffrage Atelier, Shepherd's Bush, west London. The Suffrage Atelier was founded in London in February 1909. Its aim was 'to encourage artists to forward the Women's Movement, and particularly the Enfranchisement of Women, by means of pictorial publications.' The design represents the argument that, if women had the vote, they would be able to support the trade union struggle for improved wages.
