This van poster was created in May 1935 by Benson's advertising agency for Home & Colonial Stores. Tea merchant Julius Drewe founded the chain of grocery shops in London in 1883. By the 20th century, there were over 100 branches nationwide and Drewe was a millionaire. Most of Benson's adverts for the chain focussed on its tea, which was its most popular product.
