Small Matchbox model of a Woolworth's shop.

Aluminium egg slicer in original cardboard box. The slicer frame is in one piece. Attached to it is a separate frame with wires tensioned between the two ends. The slice is marked on the base "English make". The box is printed in blue, yellow, red and orange with illustrations of a sliced egg, the slicer and the Union Jack. Inscriptions include "Aluminium/Egg/Slicer" and "Entirely/British". The box is secured with metal staples. Purchased at Woolworth's, Purley in 1921 for 6d.

Green pottery vase with handle and transfer print of exotic bird and flowers, made in Britain. The stoneware is has a ridged texture. Purchased from F.W.Woolworths & Co Ltd

A pair of women' shoes, c. 1925. Red silk and gold lame brocade, with silver leather applied to front of vamp and at each side of quarters, extending into strap across instep. Grey kid lining, white linen 'sock'. Brown leather insole. Toe with rounded point, the vamp and quarters with pierced and cut-out decoration , fastening with single strap and single bronze coloured domed button, with embossed design of fleurs-de-lys. Louis heel, leather covered with mother of pearl enamel set with small diamantes and tiny gold beads, in geometric pattern radiating from bronze coloured plaque at centre back of heel. Heel decoration outlined with strip of green enamel set with diamantes and gold beading. Leather sole. Insole stamped in gold with 'HIGH CLASS SHOEMAKER / I. Pluchino / 83, WALTON ST. / LONDON, SW3'. Plain weave viscose dress made from two different floral prints, with no lining. Skirt and sleeves made from navy ground fabric with all-over print of small multi-coloured flowers. Bodice fabric printed in horizontal stripes with flowers and geometric shapes.Shallow neckline fastening at centre front with navy nylon cord draw string tie, finishing with tassels. Long raglan sleeves with cuff closing with a black plastic button.Bodice has no bust darts; made with two front and two back panels fastening with zip at centre back. Full, mid-calf length, skirt made from four panels cut on the cross. The dress has a narrow self tie belt at waist. Retailer's label printed in mid-brown on cream synthetic satin: 'wallis' and '8'. Printed material and care label attached. Worn with black patent wedge-heel, strappy sandals. Wallis Fashion shops are a long-standing feature on the British high street. This dress reflects how, by using less expensive materials and smaller fabric allowance, high street retailers can replicate contemporary high fashion looks, in this case the bohemian folk style of the 1970s

The wedding dress was bought at John Lewis in April 1944. It cost £6 19s 6d. The dress was shortened and the waist taken in at the time. The wearer commented that the pleats should hang free and that they had been wrongly pressed by the dry cleaner. The marriage took place at Tottenham Registry Office on 8 November 1944. The dress was donated by the wearer Mrs S G Edmonds.
