Robert Dufton

Robert Dufton was appointed to the Board of Museum of London in June 2004. He is the Director of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, one of the UK’s largest independent grant-making organisations, which supports the arts, education, and social justice across the UK and in India.

Previously he was Director of Rayne Foundation (2002-2004), and before that a member of the senior management teams of the Heritage Lottery Fund (Deputy Director of Operations 1995-2002) and of the national charity Arts and Business (Programme Director & Company Secretary 1992-1994).

He trained as a solicitor at Lovells, an international law firm, and then worked as a company lawyer in its London and New York offices.

He is a member of the Council of the University of Bristol. His interests include alpinism, the arts and the history of London, where he lives.
