Tom Hoffman

Tom Hoffman has been an investment banker and international banker in the City of London since 1971. His interests are the City, education, music and hospitals. In addition to his City of London appointments where, inter alia, he is Chairman of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Deputy Chairman of the Gresham Committee and Deputy Governor of The Honourable The Irish Society, he is also a Trustee of Christ’s Hospital Foundation, a Governor of Birkbeck University of London and a former Member of the Council of Exeter University.

Until recently he was Chairman of the Advisory Board of The Sixteen Choir & Orchestra and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the London Festival Orchestra. He is a Director of the City Arts Trust / City of London Festival, a Governor of King’s College Hospital, London, and is on the governing boards of the Corporation of the Sons of the Clergy, and the Friends of the Clergy Corporation.

Tom was Master of the Tylers & Bricklayers’ Company in 2006-7, he has published Papers on the guilds outside London of Vintners, Fishmongers, Masons, Tallow Chandlers, Drapers, Butchers, and Tylers & Bricklayers and he is Treasurer of the Guildhall Historical Association.

Tom joined the Museum of London Board on 1 December 2007.
