Have you ever wondered what the bones in your body are called and how they all connect to one another?  Well, by the end of this course all will be revealed and you will be able to lay out a skeleton and tell us all about it.

We will naturally also look at some of the many and varied diseases that may affect the skeleton some of which, you will be more familiar with than others.

The course will also include an opportunity to learn about London’s cemeteries through time and how we put our osteological knowledge into context. The museum archives skeletons from the Roman period right through to the 19th century. We will be looking at how lifestyle has affected the skeleton through time and how the population has fluctuated through disease and hardship.

The course will run for ten weeks and be held every Wednesday evening 6.30pm to 8.30pm from 23 April to 25 June 2008 at the Museum of London in the Terrace Gallery:
