A bite of the past

21 February to the 18 May 2008

In collaboration with the British Dental Association (BDA) museum, the Centre for Human Bioarchaeology will be displaying some glorious dental delights. The exhibition will contain dentition from skeletons selected from the over 17,000 skeletons curated at the Museum of London.

The elements chosen provide vivid examples of a variety of dental diseases, smoking habits, dental treatment, indication of teeth used as a tool and extra teeth. Alongside some of the elements will be artefacts used for treating unfortunate individuals suffering with their teeth.

The dental museum itself has a splendid array of dental instruments, some more tortuous than others! and also the development over time of dental hygiene items.

The exhibition will run from the 21 February to 18 May 2008 at the:
