Centre for Human Bioarchaeology

Museum of London curates over 17, 000 archaeologically derived human skeletal remains, who were excavated in advance of construction or development work in the City and Greater London area.  These individuals date from the Neolithic to the post-Medieval period, and their study provides a unique insight into one of the world's oldest cities.

In 2003, the Centre for Human Bioarchaeology was established to curate and research these collections. The majority of the archive is situated at the Museum of London, and continues to expand through work carried out by Museum of London Archaeology.
