The Museum of London curates over 17 000 human skeletal remains from multiple periods of London’s past, spanning from the Roman times right through to the post medieval period. The archive is the result of decades of archaeological excavations in advance of sites under development in London.
The Centre for Human Bioarchaeology was founded in 2003 in a curatorial capacity. The majority of the archive is situated at the Museum of London and continues to expand through work carried out by Museum of London Archaeological Services.
