Moving Here: 200 years of migration to England

London is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. Over 300 languages are spoken in our schools, and 30% of the population come from ethnic minorities.

Moving Here provides online access to virtual exhibitions, personal stories and a database with 150,000 records, images and digital audio files from over 30 museums, libraries and archives.

It celebrates, explores and records why Caribbean, Irish, Jewish and South Asian communities came to England, what their experiences were and what they continue to be.

The Museum has contributed over 1000 images and 60 oral histories to Moving Here.
