Participants of the Endz meet project editing their film

Endz meet

Took place: March - July 2006

Steph: ‘I learnt more about people, especially in Hackney; learnt about working in a group – we all had cameras and had to compromise when deciding where to film; I had fun – especially seeing the end product.’

Cain: ‘I liked the event at the end which was shown at the Museum of London – great to see the final product.  I enjoyed using the camera attached to my bike.’

Carl, a participant of the project, filming in Hackney

The Museum worked with Fairbridge Hackney, an organisation that works with young people who are out of work, training or education, and Entelechy Arts, who work with people who have multiple disabilities. Young adults from both organisations worked with a digital artist to create a film about their experience of living in London.

The piece explored issues important to them such as crime, environment and journeys. The group also learnt how to VJ (like DJing but with images) their work, which was shown at them Museum of London, the London Disability Today 2006 conference and The Albany, a community arts centre in Deptford.
