About the learning programme for special & hospital schools, & SEN units

All sessions run by the Museum are FREE, thanks to funding from the Renaissance in the Regions programme. We offer a range of interactive and inspirational National Curriculum linked sessions.

A visit to the Museum of London or the Museum of London Docklands or a session at your school can support and inspire learning across the curriculum - in Literacy, Geography, Citizenship and Art, as well as History. The session leaders are experienced at facilitating sessions for different age groups and abilities.

Sessions are tailored to meet the learning needs of your pupils and supporting resource materials are available to help you prepare for and follow-up a session.

Free sessions at the Museum include:

  • interactive gallery workshops
  • drama, storytelling and theatre performances
  • art workshops.

Sessions are suitable for KS1-KS4.

'At your school' and 'School & Museum' sessions

We have an extensive school-based service available for you. We hope that visits by our learning staff to your school will help give pupils confidence in using the Museums.

Opportunities include:

  • one-day workshops at your school
  • a visit to your school followed by a Museum visit
  • 5-week projects at your school including a Museum visit.

The sessions include:

  • drama characters, storytelling and puppet theatre
  • object handling and replica costume
  • art workshops.
