Flint Axe
This page is designed to provide students with learning difficulties with a range of ways to interact with an object from the Museum’s collection. Use the 3D model to visually explore the object by zooming in on it and turning it around using your mouse. The simple caption on the right is also key-word signed with audio in the video below. Tip: your internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) can change the size of the text to suit the requirements of your pupils (go to View > Text size). You may also wish to change your screen resolution (go to Start > Control Panel > Display) to at least 800 pixels high to make sure that all the page all fits on your screen.
This is a flint axe. It was made a long time ago and has been was polished. It would have had a handle made of wood and was used to chop down trees. The person who made it made it very carefully. It would have been one of their favourite things.
