Medieval shoe
This page is designed to provide students with learning difficulties with a range of ways to interact with an object from the Museum’s collection. Tip: your internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) can change the size of the text to suit the requirements of your pupils (go to View > Text size). You may also wish to change your screen resolution (go to Start > Control Panel > Display) to at least 800 pixels high to make sure that all the page all fits on your screen.
This is a shoe from a long time ago.It was an ankle boot but the ankle part is missing. Imagine walking on muddy streets in shoes like this. In medieval London there were lots of shoes like this one. Look at your shoes. What’s different? What’s the same?
