This session is run by the Olympic View Tube and Wildlife Trust.

Location: Videoconference

This session is run in partnership with View Tube Learn. Content will include the history of the Olympics; how technology has changed sport and sports equipment; comparing past London Olympics in 1908 and 1948 with 2012; comparison of the design of stadiums for large sporting events, from Roman amphitheatres through to the 2012 athletics stadium and velodrome; the 2012 Olympic site, why it was chosen, legacy and regeneration.

Curriculum links: History: Historical enquiry, Local and British history; significant national event: Science; materials: Physical Education: Importance of physical activity; appropriate clothing.

Duration: 45 minutes
