About videoconferencing

Now you can experience a Museum of London session without even leaving the classroom! Sessions are free thanks to support from Arts Council England.

Each session allows your pupils to interact with characters or educators from the Museum and to investigate objects from our collection, via a television screen or interactive whiteboard.

Equipment

If you have not made a videoconference before:

  • check with your school’s ICT department to find out if you already have videoconferencing equipment.
  • register with JaNET Videoconferencing Service (JVCS), www.ja.net/services/video/jvcs/ or call 0131 650 4933. We cannot videoconference with schools that aren’t registered with JVCS.

Advice

Local authorities and regional broadband consortia are all able to advise on technical requirements and equipment for videoconferencing.
