Sustainability

We are committed to playing our part to improve London’s environment and to use the museum’s collections to engage with larger questions about London.

Our plans for environmental sustainability

To reduce our impact, and contribute to improving London’s environment, we plan to:

  • manage our operations to a high standard
  • promote awareness of our staff and visitors
  • find ways to improve our buildings
  • consider our procurement
  • monitor and report on key consumption areas.

Our aging buildings remain a challenge for us but we have made positive improvements with green roofs and rainwater harvesting as well as energy efficient lighting.

Sustainability

In our strategic plan, Inspiring a Passion for London (opens in a new tab), we set out how we are to work more sustainably across all that we do. And on this page you will find our sustainability statement and related information.
