Michael Welbank

Michael joined the Museum of London board of governors in 2007.

Michael was made a MBE for services to local government and the north west London community in the 2013 New Year honours list.

Michael is an architect, town planner and mediator who trained at University College London.

Following positions in private practice, local government and central government, the majority of his career has been as a director of the consultancy Shankland Cox and latterly as a director of Entec UK. He had been involved in a wide range of development, planning, environmental and conservation projects in the UK and overseas.

He has been Chair of the British Consultants Bureau, President of the Royal Town Planning Institute, Churchill Trust Fellow, Visiting Professor at Oxford Brookes University and Master of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects.
