Roman Londinium c.AD 120. After destruction during Queen Boudica's revolt of AD 60 Londinium was rebuilt as a planned town. It rapidly expanded and by AD 100 replaced Colchester (Camulodunum) as the capital of the province of Britannia. Click on the plus button to see a 17th-century view of London.
