Rose Theatre
 London entertains
 

The Rose Theatre was the first Elizabethan theatre to be built on Bankside, in 1587 (12 years before its neighbour the Globe). The leading playwrights of the day, including William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlow, had their plays performed here.
