LUCILLA

Empress AD164-9

Annia Aurelia Galeria Lucilla was the second daughter of Marcus Aurelius and Faustina the younger. She married Lucius Verus, Marcus' co-emperor, around AD164. After the death of her husband in AD169, she remarried but was involved in a plot against Commodus, the succeeding emperor, and was exiled to Capri before being executed.

Her coins were struck during the reign of Marcus Aurelius.
