PHOTOGRAPHS

1890s Society, founded 1963, 200+ members

The Society brings together admirers of the entire artistic and literary scene of this most vibrant decade. Alexia Lazou made these cakes for the Annual General Meetings. In 1998 she decorated one with Max Beerbohm's illustration 'Some Persons of the Nineties'. The following year she replaced the Beerbohm's figures with cartoons of society members, contrasting one fin de siecle with another.
