SCULPTURE

Feathers Project, founded 1989, 50-60 members

The sculpture represents some of the many activities undertaken by people at Feathers to provide services to the local community. It's about taking responsibility for the promotion of a positive image of ourselves as people with mental health problems who can realise our potential, have control over our lives and play a role in our community.

TEXT OF A MINUTE ASSERTING PARITY OF ESTEEM FOR SAME-SEX COUPLES

Forest Hill Friends Meeting, founded 1974, 60 members

GAUNTLETS

Freemasons, founded 1813, 10000+ members

Freemasonry is one of the world's oldest fraternal societies, concerned with moral and social values. Its members wear regalia - usually an apron and collar. In the past gauntlet cuffs were worn; today they are often converted into charity collecting bags as a reminder of past traditions and a practical aid to the charitable giving of the organisation.

CAMPAIGN POSTCARDS & BOOKMARKS

Friends of Carnegie Library, founded 1999, 160 members

After years of neglect and mismanagement, local libraries are under threat of closure. If we don't act, a vital focal point for the community will be lost. Our postcards communicate the message that we need our books. Bookmarks are useful reminders of how far we've progressed - in reading and campaigning!
