Oldchurch Hospital Radio, founded 1969, 30 members The target tuner is a pretuned transistor radio on which the patients of the hospital can listen to the Oldchurch Radio Service. Radios are lent free of charge to patients for the duration of their stay in the hospital. The radios enable all patients to listen in and enjoy the hospital radio service. Email: n/a
Operation Black Vote, founded 1996, membership varies London is a world city, with a multiracial, cross-cultural and dynamic culture that owes its strength to its diversity. The poster aims to empower and inspire London and its peoples to celebrate and maintain aspirations for its new Government - the GLA - and embrace the value of equality, inclusivity and the multiracial nature that makes London a first-class city entering into the new Millennium. Outwithit Theatre Company, founded 1999, 15 members Outwithit is poor and we needed money to put on a production. One of our fundraising ideas was to make T-shirts. Pedestrians Association, founded 1929, 1100 members In the 1920s our campaigns persuaded the Government to introduce the driving test, the 30mph speed limit and pedestrian crossings. We also helped write the very first Highway Code. Since those early successes, we have moved on to cover all aspects of pedestrian welfare. We have donated shoes because they symbolise walking. Pie in the Sky Café, Bromley by Bow Centre This café was set up by volunteers and now provides professional training. The frying pan has been with us from the start, living through many changes. The spatula has been the most abused and best loved kitchen implement. Email: n/a
Pinner Local History Society, founded 1972, 300 members This publication is based on research undertaken by our members and covers aspects of the Pinner area including sport, family, history, population, oral history, ancient monuments, pre-Victorian shopping and pubs. The Pipe Club of London, founded 1970, 494 members The Pipe Club of London aims to promote the interest of pipe smokers while offering social entertainment and educational facilities to members based on the theme of pipes and tobacco. Players of St Peter, founded 1946, 80 members The Players were formed in 1946 to perform a religious play both as a thanksgiving for the return of peace and as a celebration of Christmas. Our annual production is taken from the English Medieval Mystery Cycles. The core of the play is the script which, whilst remaining as close to the 15th-century original as possible, is edited to ease understanding. Email:
