Survivors' Poetry, founded 1992, 1350 members Survivors' Poetry supports poetry written by survivors of mental distress
by organising performances, workshops and publications. Our brief for
the Millennium has been to extend our work to black and ethnic minority
groups and younger survivors of mental distress. This book contains poems

Sutton Seniors' Forum, founded 1996, 4300 members One of the aims of our forum is to improve the image of Seniors. This
certificate accompanied a petition handed to the Prime Minister protesting
about the insulting amount of 25p which is added to the state pension
on reaching the age of eighty. We Senior Citizens deserve a better life

Thursday Group, founded 1990, 15 members We are a group of women of different ages, social backgrounds and ethnic origins who meet at the Bromley -by-Bow Centre for social and leisure activities. Toynbee Hall Flower Festival, founded 1999, 60 members This floral display reflects part of the diverse ethnic community of
the East End. Our Flower Festival, to celebrate 50 years of services for
older people at Toynbee Hall, brought together children from local schools,
students at the nearby university and people from other charitable organisations
and community centres.

Toynbee Hall Girl Guides, 96 members We are proud of our uniform. It tells everybody that we are Girl Guides and it keeps us warm when we go outdoors and go camping. RECORDING OF CAMPFIRE SONGS Toynbee Hall Youth Outreach, founded 1986, 100 members Since 1986, over 1000 children from London's East End have camped at Scawsby House, Dover. Each day ends with a campfire where everybody comes to sing songs and to talk about the day's events. Campfires remind us that we are good friends and we can throw our problems on the fire if we want to. Email: n/a
Turtles Swimming Club, founded 1964, c.98 members
Our swimming club provides a safe and friendly environment for disabled swimmers and their families. The dressing gown, worn by club members , reminds us of the enjoyable swimming galas we have attended and the successes achieved over the years. Email: n/a
Vale of Health Society, founded 1974, 90-110 members The Vale of Health Society marked its 25th anniversary in 1999 by founding Heath Hands, the first volunteer corps dedicated to Hampstead Heath. members felt that Heath Hands could help give something back to this open space on which they are privileged to live.
