In the left foreground are seen the Pleasure Gardens' Piers with the Pierhead Restaurant, and further inland the Funfair Piazza with its mosaic flooring and three main halls. To the left is the Big Dipper. In the central foreground is the Terrace Teashop, with the Bounty moored to its right, and behind the Open Air Amphitheatre the tented roof of the Dance Pavilion rises from its surrounding lawns and flower beds. On the right is the semi-circular Riverside Theatre, with the Riverside Rooms facing the river at the extreme right. The Main Vista stretches from front to rear on the right of the image, and on the extreme right is seen the Crescent Restaurant. Photograph, monochrome, of the Festival of Britain symbol, the Festival Star logo, designed by Abram Games. The design shows the head of Britannia surmounting the star of a compass. The full colour version was red white and blue alternately patterned on a gold background.
