'Gwyl Prydain, A calendar
of events in Wales'
Leaflet, 6d.
The
Festival of Britain was a national event, with activities taking place
all over the country. There were two major exhibitions outside of London:
the Industrial Power Exhibition in Glasgow and the Farm and Factory
Exhibition in Belfast. The Festival ship, Campania, travelled
around the coast visiting British ports while the Land Travelling Exhibition
took 5,000 exhibits to Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Nottingham.
Many towns and villages marked the occasion of the Festival in some
way. Established events, such as the Welsh Eisteddfod, were also tied
to the Festival.
