Find out more about … reconstructing Londinium

Photo a a building under reconstructionTo rebuild Londinium, the Museum worked with a film company, Sands Films, and used authentic materials and methods wherever possible.

Over a period of six months, the wall frames and roof trusses were prefabricated off-site. At the same time, a team of specialist craftworkers prepared a complete set of furnishings - from chairs to kitchen bowls, from window panes to oil lamps. Then everything was brought into the Museum for assembly in the exhibition area.
