These jars have a single trail that creates six petals around the base/lower body and a spiral around the neck. Similar jars are known from Faversham (Kent).
The glass was almost certainly made in England, possibly in Kent. Most English finds of squat jars seem to be from 7th-century contexts, but earlier examples are known from Norway, and a general dating of 580-630 is accepted for the type.
