Production date: 1571-1800 Material: ceramic; earthenware Measurements: H 167 mm; DM 108 mm Museum Section: Post-Medieval Summary: Tin-glazed earthenware puzzle jug, decorated with a tulip in blue, orange, yellow and green. The neck is perforated with heart and oval-shaped openings. The handle is a hollow tube, pushed into the lower body, and the rim is also hollow. Crossley (English Ceramic Circle 15.1 (1993), 78) suggests these jugs were manufactured at Le Croisie in Brittany in the late 18th century. See also A21496, A25875.
