Summary: Surrey/Hampshire border whiteware, yellow-glazed lantern, incomplete. Remaining lower part of the body is jar-shaped with a candle socket attached inside the base and a number of square or rectangular openings roughly cut in the walls of the jar. None of these is now complete, and knife marks are clearly visible in the corners of each.
