Summary: Claret glass made in Golden Amber glass. Flared upper bowl on a hollow conical foot. Pattern no. M 53, designed by James Hogan in 1934. By 1940 made in Flint (colourless) only, cf. W. Evans, C. Ross and A. Werner, Whitefriars Glass. James Powell & Sons of London, London 1995, pl. 536 on p. 311. For a cocktail glass made in Sea Green and a sherry glass made in Sky Blue from the same service cf. 80.547/239 and 240 respectively.
