See large image candlestick Accession number: 34.139/423 Production date: 1750-1800 Material: glass; lead glass Measurements: H 203 mm; DM (holder; outside) 36 mm; DM (holder; inside) 25 mm; DM (foot) 98 mm; WT 375 gm Museum Section: Decorative Art Summary: Candlestick: baluster-shaped holder with 'string rim'; on complex stem comprising two similar pairs of knops (flattened ball with two rows of air bubbles; inverted baluster; cotton reel; flattened ball with two rows of air bubbles) and double mereses centred on a large annular knop; on domed foot with three corrugations on straight sides. Lightly engraved ring around mid-section of holder may indicate oil line. Location: Object stored at Mortimer Wheeler House (Ceramics and Glass store)
