Object loans
The museum seeks to make the collections accessible through an
intensive programme of short and long term loans to a number of partner
institutions in London, the UK and abroad.
As we prepare to move to a new home in West Smithfield in the coming years, the museum has a moratorium on lending from the collection, effective from 1 July 2020. This will allow us to focus on the important preparation work needed to relocate the collection.
All lending commitments which have already been agreed will be honoured. We expect to re-open the lending programme within 6 months of opening our new museum in 2026, and will provide further details in due course.
