Shop like a Victorian

Take a stroll through history in our atmospheric recreated Victorian street. Check out the wares at the toy shop or see where sir might have had his beard shaved in our real Victorian barbershop!

Make yourself at home

Get cosy in our recreated Saxon home, complete with glowing embers and sheepskin blankets. Imagine what it would have been like to live in medieval London in a house like this. What might be in that cooking pot, and how did you catch your dinner?

Olympic Cauldron

Every single one of the copper cauldron pieces in this sculpture is different. Each was shaped by hand and some took days to make! It was created for the London Olympics in 2012 for the grand opening ceremony.

Lockers

Lockers are available, just ask a member of staff for directions

Café and restaurants

Our cafés in the Entrance foyer and Ellipse Hall are open for snacks, drinks and light meals from 10am-4.30pm

Picnic area

Our Ellipse Hall café has additional seating for those wanting to bring their own food

Baby changing

We have baby-changing facilities to help keep all our visitors happy, even the littlest! Waiting times could be longer than usual

Family accessibility

The museum is fully accessible to our buggy and wheelchair users
