Late Stuart London

Beginning with the rebuilding of the City after the Great Fire of London, this gallery focuses on social and cultural change, the Civil War and the development international travel and trade. It includes a complete Stuart room, with original wall panelling, carved plaster ceiling and decorated with fine furniture and works of art.

The displays address themes relating to National Curriculum study units: William III and Mary, Queen Anne, the rebuilding of London, life in restoration London, developments in the arts, architecture, science and medicine.
