Londinium through a lens
See your image included in Our Londinium 2012!
Our Londinium 2012 features a map that will be made up of images showing Roman influences in London today. Why not send in your images for display on our map? It could be a picture of Roman-style architecture, Roman words or numerals, Roman-inspired fashion or any other Roman influences you see around the capital. Simply send us your image, telling us where the picture was taken along with your name and a brief description of the Roman link.
Your photograph must be taken within one of the 33 boroughs of Greater London and show something which can be seen today (i.e. no historical photographs). The images should not feature the Museum of London or any Museum of London objects.
Over the coming months the map within the Museum, along with our Flickr group map online, should grow to show the many Roman influences still visible across London. You can watch its progress by visiting the map within the exhibition or by checking the map on Flickr (external link).
How to submit an image
You can either submit your image via our dedicated Flickr group (external link) or by emailing your image to ourlondinium@museumoflondon.org.uk.
Entering via Flickr
- Upload your image to your Flickr account.
- Within the ‘title’ and ‘description’ fields please include your name and a brief description of the Roman link.
- Geotag your image by ‘adding it to your map’ on Flickr.
- Submit your image to our Flickr group (external link).
Entering via email
- Send your image to ourlondinium@museumoflondon.org.uk.
- Within the email please include your name, a brief description of the Roman link along with the address or map coordinates of the image location.
Terms and conditions
1) Images must be uploaded to the Museum of London’s Londinium through a lens Flickr group (external link) or sent to ourlondinium@museumoflondon.org.uk.
2) Images must have been taken within one of the 33 boroughs of Greater London and must be geotagged to their relevant map location.
3) Images must be 300dpi JPGs.
4) By submitting your image to this group you are agreeing to the reproduction of your image within the exhibition and in any Museum of London or third party publicity in support of the exhibition.
5) By submitting your image via email you are agreeing to your image being uploaded to the Junction Flickr account as a copyright-protected image. You are also agreeing to the reproduction of your image within the exhibition and in any Museum of London or third party publicity in support of the exhibition.
6) The Junction Flickr account will be deleted when Our Londinium 2012 closes at the Museum of London.
7) You may only submit your own images.
8) You may submit more than one image.
9) We reserve the right to remove offensive images or images which infringe on copyright.
