Security at the Museum of London Docklands

Following recent events in the Middle East, we are in close contact with the metropolitan police, private security staff at Canary Wharf Group and others to discuss safety around the museum’s Fashion City exhibition and its accompanying programme of events. As this situation unfolds, the well-being of guests, staff, and partners remains paramount, and we are maintaining an active security presence on site.

Our security teams at the Museum of London and Museum of London Docklands work very closely with the City of London Police, Metropolitan police, engage with Project Servator and other security services to deliver a safe and secure environment.

There are numerous security measures you can see and of course the ones you can’t.

We have fully trained and dedicated security team on site 24/7 at the Museum of London, who monitor all of our premises each and every day.

All our security and visitor experience staff are trained to ensure guests have a safe, secure and enjoyable experience. So if you see anything suspicious, please tell a member of staff.

To keep everyone in the museum safe and to protect our collections, you and your belongings may be searched on entering the Museum of London and Museum of London Docklands.

No sharp objects are allowed into the museum (including knives and pen knives).

Please note we are unable to allow over-sized luggage into the museum. We have lockers on-site which are big enough to take cabin sized luggage (24cm x 37cm x 43cm) and cost £1 to use.

We really appreciate your co-operation, thank you.
