Spender was influenced by the idea that many of the social problems in poor urban areas were due to sub-standard housing. Catalogue of the Sweated Industries' Exhibition of 1906. Price 6d. Sponsored by the Daily News and held at the Queen's Hall from May 2nd to 29th the exhibition was intended to acquaint the public with the evils of sweated labour. The catalogue includes a section on all the sweated industries represented in the exhibition, including black and white photographs.

Propoganda Handbill or flyer in the form of a 'phoney' bank note. Issued by Trade Unions as part of the propoganda war that characterised the Wapping dispute between printworkers and Rupert Murdoch instigated by the move of News International from Fleet Street to Waping. Printed as a £55 pound note to represent the 55,000 workers sacked by Murdoch and the £47 million profit his companies made in one year. On the reverse of the'note' is an image of Murdoch on the body of the Duke of Wellington and an image of the 'fortress Wapping' News International headquarters.

Handbill or flyer issued in support of the Garners Steak Houses Strikers. The poster announces a 'Day of Solidarity' and march from Trafalgar Square to Speakers Corner to support the 4th month of the strike by catering workers employed by the restaurant group. The strike centred on the workers demand for Trade Union recognition. Printed in red and green on both sides the flyer gives details of the event and also outlines the demands of the workers. Includes a graphic, in red of a cow sectioned as if it were about to be cut the large sections labelled 'management' and a few small sections marked 'workers' relating to the discrepancy in the share of money between the two sections of workers.
