Walthamstow market is the longest market in Europe. It began in 1885. The market has one hundred and fifty stalls and three hundred shops. It runs from Hoe Street to St James's Street and includes Selborne Walk Shopping Centre. You can find best bargains - buy some jewellery, designer clothing, fresh fruit and vegetables, cameras and cuddly toys. You can also find traditional East End Cockney tucker to Oriental and Caribbean delicacies in restaurants and cafes. There are plenty of traditional British Pubs with a variety of ales and bar food. |

In the summer the market takes on a carnival atmosphere with street entertainers and musicians performing at weekends. Nothing can beat watching the colourful range of clowns, dancers, musicians and mime artists. At Christmas you can enjoy the Christmas Light's Spectacular live music and other performances. |

Market Opening Times: Mon - Fri: 9am - 4pm, Saturday: 9am - 5pm. Walthamstow Market is easy to get to. By tube you can take the Victoria Line to Walthamstow Central, or take the train from Liverpool Street to St James's Street. The market is just outside either of these stations and it stretches the whole distance between them. Walthamstow Central also has British Rail connections from Liverpool Street. |
