1929-1952

by JOHN.M.PARNES

I was born in Christchurch Avenue NW6 1929 and lived there until 1952, when I got married. We lived there during the 'Blitz'until our house had a direct hit during a heavy raid early in 1940. After this we evacuated to cheltenham and other towns for safety, until the end of the war, and the house had been rebuilt, and my parents lived there until my father died in 1967.

I have written a very comprehensive account of my family's wartime experiences ( this includes several other friends and members of most of my relations ) during this period.

Unfortunately as the years passed, any visible records are long gone. If you would like to read my account of this interesting period, covering some eight or nine years, I would be only too delighted send a copy to you. Please contact me at gbjony9@yahoo.co.uk for more information.
