Fazal Saleemi

Lewisham in the sixties


Fazal Saleemi was born in Nairobi in 1934. His family came from Lahore in modern-day Pakistan to help build the railways in Kenya.

Fazal Saleemi emigrated to Britain in 1963. He initially continued his work as an architect before starting a family business. In his interview, he talks about living in Lewisham in the 1960s.

Fazal Saleemi was interviewed by Rory O'Connell in 1993.
