Kensal Green Cemetery

The Cemetery of All Souls, Kensal Green, is London's oldest public cemetery. The first burial took place there in 1833. Kensal Green was one of a number of commercial cemeteries opened in London in the early 19th century to deal with the capital's expanding population. Many famous people are buried there, including the engineers Marc Isambard Brunel and Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the novelists Wilkie Collins, Anthony Trollope and William Makepeace Thackeray.

Charlie Phillips

Charlie Phillips was born in Jamaica. He came to London in 1956. He worked as a freelance photographer for various magazines, but became known for his photographs documenting the highs and lows of London life during the 1960s and 1970s.
