Gold shoes

Party shoes

These gold shoes are from the 1970s. They were bought in the shoe shop Saxone in Brixton by a local resident. The shoes were designed to be worn as party wear. They are typical of the flamboyant style that was fashionable in London during the 1970s.

Golden slippers

The shoes are made of gold lame. This was the term given to the man-made fabric made of woven metallic thread. There is a double cross-over strap with buckles. The shoes have wedge heels which are also covered in lame.
