Identification
There are some useful tools available for helping with all stages of pest monitoring and analysis. The tools listed below all help with the identification of pests.
English Heritage poster
The English Heritage has created “A Helpful Guide to Insect Pests found in Historic Houses and Museums”. This poster contains information to aid identification, such as images of the insects and larvae with their sizes.
USB microscopes
These microscopes can be plugged into a computer, and provide digital images of any pest findings, which can then be added to a reference kit – or shared with experts if identification is difficult.
