Bob the dock worker:

How much are those turkeys?

Turkey seller:

Half a crown. Too much for you, Bob.

Here, how about a bag of potatoes – I know you work so hard – on the house.

Bob the dock worker:

Thanks so much, but how am I going to earn enough to get a turkey on the table this year?

Turkey seller:

Busk? Busk away, my son! Sing that song, juggle that potato. Turn that one potato, two potato into the turkey or pudding of your dreams.

Here are some potato busking ideas:

  • Sing the song: Can you sing ♪ One potato, two potato ♪ and catch small potatoes in a pot at the same time? You'll need someone to help!

Find a safe open space if catching potatoes in pots and always check with an adult first. Careful with all those Christmas dinner potatoes!

  • Try juggling: Can you juggle with 2 or 3 small potatoes?
  • Potato pile: Can you balance a pile of potatoes while you sing?
  • Potato art: See what you can find around the kitchen to create a Christmas character from your potato.

Fantastic busking! That’s worth a shilling in your hat.
